Glass Damage
Chipped windscreens do not always need to be replaced as they can often be repaired using a high tech chemical resin cured by ultra violet light. If you are fully comprehensively insured then it is usually free*, with no effect to your no - claims bonus!!

dsc03165.gifTo ensure a good repair, the chip should be less than 15mm diameter. A chamber is positioned over the centre of the chip. Air is then pumped out, creating a vacuum in the chamber and the damaged area. Resin is then pumped in under pressure to fill the fracture. The pressure forces resin into the fracture and any tiny cracks are filled. The final stage is to cure the resin using a special frequency ultra violet light. When cured, the windscreen should then have 100% of its structural integrity restored.
